Rice(soaked for at least 4 hrs)- 1 cup
Cooked rice- 2 tbsp
Scraped coconut- 1/2
Yeast- as required
Sugar- as required
Salt- as required
- Make a batter of rice, coconut and cooked rice You can use water or coconut milk. The batter should not be too watery.
- Add yeast and sugar to warm water and dissolve.
- Add this to the batter and keep for about 6 hrs.
- Just before making appams, add salt and little sugar.
