Nendram chips(Banana)

  • Asafoetida Powder
    - 1 teaspoon
  • Chilli powder
    - 1 teaspoon
  • Bananas
    - 6
  • Salt
    - To taste
  • Oil
    - for frying


  1. Repeat with all the slices of bananas.
  2. Drain and spread on a paper so that extra oil if any is there will be absorbed.
  3. Stir the chips quite often.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan,add as many slices as you can,sprinkle salt water,when the bananas are half fried.
  5. Dissolve the salt in water and keep it aside.
  6. Slit the skin,peel and cut into circular slices to the size of a rupee.
  7. Cut the stem and ends of the bananas.
  8. Special variety of bananas,Nendram of kerala region are usually favoured for this chips.
  9. Sprinkle chilli powder and powdered asafoetida.
  10. Mix well and serve.
