Discription

    Ingredients

  • Chilli powder
    - 1 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander
    - 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric
    - 2 teaspoon
  • Ground ginger
    - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ground pepper
    - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coconut milk
    - 300 ml
  • Ghee
    - 60 ml
  • Onions(Medium Size chopped)
    - 2
  • Garlic cloves(chopped)
    - 2
  • Lean stewing beef cut in to cubes
    - 900 g
  • Beef stock
    - 300 ml
  • Lemon juice
    - 1
  • Salt
    - to taste

    Method

  1. Mix the spices and pepper to a paste with a little of the coconut milk.set aside.
  2. Heat the ghee in a large,heavy-based saucepan.
  3. Add the onion and garlic and fry gently for 5 minutes until soft and lightly colored.
  4. Add spicy paste and fry,stirring constantly,for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the meat and stock and bring slowly to the boil.
  6. Cover and simmer gently for 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Add the remaining coconut milk,with lemon juice and salt to taste.
  8. Bring to the boil,lower the heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
